The DPS32 Series Step Motor Driver Packs are open frame OEM units that can drive 6-lead, 4-phase step
motors rated at 0.5 to 3.5 amps per phase. These Driver Packs employ a bilevel drive technique where a
high voltage is applied to the motor winding to quickly build up the motor current and a low voltage is
used to sustain the motor current. Bilevel drivers do not use high frequency switching techniques as
chopper drivers do. Consequently, they do not create the EMI, RFI, and motor heating problems associated
with chopper drivers. The DPS32PS1 unit includes a +5Vdc power supply that can supply up to 1.5A to
external circuitry. The DPS32PG1 unit includes a ramping pulse generator that has adjustable Base and
Max speeds and separate adjustments for acceleration and deceleration.
