Programmable Controllers
Anaheim Automation Stepper Programmable Controllers are offered in three types: the economical PCL501 Series, which is ideal for simple stepper motor applications where minimal programming is required (offers an 18 instruction command set), the PCL511 Series which is similar but includes the index-on-the- fly feature, and the PCL601 Series, which offers a more sophisticated 40 instruction command set. The Programmable Controllers are all single-axis units, but may be daisy-chained for multi-axis applications. These Programmable Controllers offer both RS232 and RS485 bi-directional serial data bus onboard. The PCL601 Series also offers a USB version, and encoder feedback, Index-on-the-Fly and Output-on-the-Fly features. Easy-to-Use Software included FREE and readily available online. See Driver Packs on this website for programmable controllers packaged with stepper motor drivers and matched power supplies.
The PCL601 single-axis stepper motor controller contains 2 Kbytes of non-volatile stored programming space and quadrature encoder feedback. Available is the PCL601XCE controller which has both RS232 and RS485 on one board or the PCL601USB for USB connectivity. The user can write the program and then have the PCL601 autostart the program on power up. With 40 commands, it provides flexible, independent control of stepper motors from computers, or any machine controller with a serial port. It is also capable of standalone operation, making it an embedded machine controller. The PCL601 series has the ability for real time functions. The PCL601 series includes the Index-on-the-fly and Output-on-the-fly features. Software included FREE and readily available online.

The economical PCL501 Stepper Programmable Controller is ideal for simple applications where minimal programming is required. A stepper motor is a digital device, so given 10 step pulses, the motor moves 10 steps. The single-axis PCL501 is designed to communicate over a RS485 bi-directional serial data bus. This PCL501 series has 2Kb of non-volatile memory and is capable of motion commands, branching, and looping, with its 18 easy-to-remember command set. It is compatible with Visual Basic, C, C++, Visual C++, and most other programming languages. Software included FREE and readily available online.

The PCL511 Stepper Programmable Controller is an economical single-axis stepper motor controller containing 2 Kbytes of non-volatile stored programming memory. With 18 easy-to-remember commands, it provides flexible, independent control of stepper motors with clock and direction outputs from computers or machine controllers with a serial port. The single-axis PCL511 is designed to communicate over a RS485 bi-directional serial data bus. Up to 32 units can be networked from one communications port on a PC or PLC. The PCL511 programmable controller has two programmable open drain outputs and four TTL compatible inputs. The PCL511 includes the index-on-the- fly feature, whereas the PCL501 does not. Software included FREE and readily available online.
