What is a screw-driven actuator? How does a screw-driven positioning table work?
A screw driven linear actuator, or "positioning table," is a device which translates the rotary motion of a motor into linear motion along one or more axis via rolling contact. The major components of a linear actuator table include the carriage, screw, rail or guide, the motor, limit switches, and the controller. The carriage is a plate which rides on the rails and is driven by the turning of the screw.

What sets screw actuators apart from other types of linear actuators?
Screw-driven linear actuators, or "motorized linear slides," are known for their high-thrust capabilities. In addition, their accuracy, repeatability, and low system inertia offer a predictable, reliable service life.
